CALCULATE YOUR FOOTPRINT
Calculate your carbon footprint or offset based on the average CO2(e) emissions of your country.
The average carbon footprint:
- 16 tons per year in the United States
- 8.4 tons per year in Germany

Top 3 cost saving actions are:
- Dry your laundry with sun and wind
- Turn down heating
- Spend less time in the shower

As a Verra certified organisation, Tui’k Ruch’Lew can trade carbon emissions.
In the last years, we have been developing a comprehensive system to install and maintain improved cookstoves. Each cookstove is reducing the carbon emissions by 3.089 tonnes of CO2 in the first year of its use (in comparison to open fire usage). Over the lifetime of one improved cookstove, the emission reductions add up to 27 tonnes of CO2.
DID YOU KNOW?
A single ONIL stove
- reduces de firewood consumption up to 70% (saving about 18 fuel wood trees per year)
- reduces the amount of unpaid work for Maya Tz’utujil people for collecting firewood (on average 2 days per week)
- reduces household air pollution by 99%
- reduces 3.089 tonnes of CO2(e) in its first year of use
CLIMATE ACTION
Towards Zero Carbon
We all know by now: the temperature is rising, forests are burning, glaciers are melting, cities are flooded. And this is just the beginning. Climate change is a very serious problem and one of the biggest responsibilities of our time. The objective is clear: to become carbon neutral by 2030. And according to science, we only have two strategies to reach this ambitious goal:
- reduce emissions
- protect and increase the carbon sinks such as tropical rainforests
With our stove project, TRL is doing both!
